Food Safety Statement
Hungry Hawks

In consideration of being permitted to access and use the Hungry Hawks App and Web Interface (the "App"), you acknowledge and agree that:
- Consuming leftover food available through the App is a potentially dangerous activity and involves the risk of serious injury, illness, and even death;
- Lehigh University has established guidelines for food donation; however, it does not independently verify that food available through the App is in compliance with the Food Donation Guidelines, or is otherwise safe for consumption, free of allergens or marked as containing allergens;
- You assume any and all risks of injury, illness, and/or death arising from consuming food available through the App; and
- You waive any and all claims against Lehigh University, its trustees and employees arising out of consumption of leftover food available through the App, whether arising out of ordinary negligence or otherwise.
Lehigh Catering has been instructed to follow the following food safety guidelines:
- Cold foods will be held at 40°F or below during the time the leftover food is posted.
- Hot foods will be held at 140°F or above during the time the leftover food is posted.
- Catering staff will remove any items from the buffet that have exceeded the safe food handling guidelines. This food will not be available for faculty, staff, and students to take.
Foods are no longer safe to eat when they have been in the danger zone of 40-140°F for more than 2 hours (1 hour if the temperature was above 90°F).
